Deep garnet colour with a warming bouquet of charred wood, spice box, leather, and black currant. This small lot Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied with soft drying tannins, moderate acidity, and great structure. Ripe dark fruits (currant, blackberry, and muddled blueberry) mingling with sweet spice and oak unfold on the palate. Ripe black currant and blackberry fruit, accented by sweet spice, vanilla, black tea, and a touch of violet/floral linger on the extra dry finish.

Hand-picked and hand-sorted from the eastern block of our own Thirty Bench vineyard on October 8. This block is divided into two sections, each with a different clone, and harvested separately. Each clone receives traditional red wine making with about two weeks of skin contact in open wooden fermenters; hand plunged to break surface cap three times daily. The individual batches received different strains of yeast and varying length of maceration to increase complexity in the final blend. Barrel aged in 70% French and 30% American oak for 20 months (50% new oak barrels). Full malolactic fermentation. Individual barrel selection to determine the final blend. Limited production of 99 cases.
